Marie Gockel

Marie Gockel focuses her practice exclusively on representing Plaintiffs in civil trials and has been a lawyer since 1983. She is licensed to practice law in both Missouri and Kansas. She has represented clients in jury trials in employment discrimination cases on the basis of sex, race, age, disability, sexual harassment and retaliation, in cases for violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act; intentional torts, wrongful discharge in violation of public policy, personal injury and business litigation. She has appeared before the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and Missouri Court of Appeals. She clerked for the Honorable Harold L. Lowenstein following law school, and graduated in 1983 from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with distinction and was on the Editorial Board of the Law Review. She is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, including the Kansas City and St. Louis Chapters. She has frequently written and spoken on employment discrimination and litigation topics. She has had an AV Martindale-Hubbell rating, which is the highest rating, for several years.
