Kristi Kingston has been a named partner of the firm since 2005 and is a 1997 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in both Missouri and Kansas. Her current practice emphasizes plaintiffs employment discrimination litigation, including sex, age, race, pregnancy, disability, and national origin discrimination and retaliation cases. She also represents clients in wrongful discharge, Equal Pay Act, Family and Medical Leave Act violation, and personal injury cases. Kristi is a 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008 Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyer in the field of labor and employment law, a designation given by Super Lawyers Magazine to only 5% of lawyers in Missouri and Kansas. She was recognized as one of the “Best of the Bar” by the Kansas City Business Journal in 2009 and 2010, and she was named as one of Missouri’s Up and Coming Lawyers by Missouri Lawyers Weekly in 2007. Kristi is recognized by Martindale-Hubbell as an AV rated attorney. In addition to her employment practice, Kristi has been and continues to be involved in a number of civic organizations. Kristi is the incoming President of the Lawyers Association of Kansas City (LAKC) and has been an active board member since 2005. Prior to being elected to serve on the LAKC Board of Directors, she was Board President of LAKC’s Young Lawyer’s Section. During her 5 year tenure on the LAKC-YLS Board, Kristi was actively involved in a number of public service projects and coordinated the Missouri High School Mock Trial Program in Kansas City, Missouri for a number of years. Kristi is the current Vice-President of the Kansas City Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association, an Eighth Circuit NELA Board member, a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers, a former Board member of the Association for Women Lawyers, and a past member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service Committee. She is a past Board Chair and current board member on the Board of Directors for Coro Kansas City, a non-profit leadership development program. During law school, in addition to being a Dean’s List student, Kristi received the National Association of Women Lawyers Award for Outstanding Female Law Student for her work as the President of the Association of Women Law Students. Kristi was a successful member of the ATLA Student Trial Advocacy Team, the ABA Negotiation Team, and UMKC's National Moot Court Team. At graduation, she was recognized as the Best Advocate in the Trial Advocacy II Competition, she was named to the Order of Barristers, and she received UMKC’S Trial Practice Award.
